It was a beautiful evening Monday night in Minneapolis. Luckily, the rain held off for the game between the East Bethel Bandits and the Ham Lake Hornets at Siebert Field. The Bandits took to the plate first as the away team. Ryan Hulke took the mound for the Hornets. After 2 walks and 2 outs the Bandits struck first off of a triple by Tyler Marcio. Marcio would score on a passed ball and the Bandits took a 3-0 lead. Kirill Landry was on the bump for the Bandits. After quick work in the first for Landry the Bandits put more on the board in the 2nd inning. The Bandits added a pair of runs off two hits, including a triple by Mitch Shake to put the Bandits up 5-0. The Hornets did bring a run home in the 2nd after a passed ball on a 3rd strike resulted in a runner advancing into scoring position, followed by a single from Dillon Titterud. From there Kirill Landry was fantastic on the mound. He struck out 18 batters on the evening. The Bandits continued to produce fits of runs throughout the game. The Hornets did find some life in the bottom of the 5th inning when Jake Mau hit a 2 run inside the park home run, but the Bandits followed it up with a 4 run inning to pull away. Leading the Bandits in hits during the game was catcher Owen Rumpca. Rumpca went 4 for 5 on the day with an RBI. The game ended after the 8th inning with the Bandits leading 14-4.

On Friday, July 1st the North Branch Nighthawks faced off with the Cambridge Bandits at Larson Field. Jake Harber took the mound for Cambridge and Nick Pilz took the mound for North Branch. Harber went 5.2 innings on the day, giving up 5 hits, and 3 runs (2 earned). Pilz went 6 innings giving up 4 hits and 3 runs. North Branch added 4 more runs later in the game and secured a 7-3 victory. Tanner Helin came in the 7th inning to relieve Pilz and threw 3 shut out innings to close out the game. Helin recorded 5 strike outs.

MBA 2025 Proposed Classification
2025 will bring change significant change to the Eastern Minnesota League as the state is undergoing new classification under the new criteria points system. The new criteria points system will classify teams as A (36 points or higher), B (20 to 35 points) or C (19 points or fewer) depending on the amount of criteria points assigned based on population and player points. The process is outlined in full on the MBA site. The Eastern Minnesota League is projected to have representation in each class during the 2025 season. Outlined below are the projected classifications for next season:

Class B - District 1 (3 Tournament Bids and combined with Sauk Valley Class B)

The Eastern Minnesota League, is part of the Minnesota Baseball Association, the governing body of amateur baseball in Minnesota. It is the oldes active amateur baseball league in the state of Minnesota. The league has sixteen teams, which play in two divisions. Each summer, after the regular season, the league playoffs determine which teams will advance to the Region 1C tournament and have a chance to go to the state Class C tournament.
