Town Team Baseball has been a part of Princeton since the 1880s when the local team would travel to nearby towns by horse and buggy or train to play baseball. The 2018 Panthers continue the tradition of “Town Ball” by playing in the Eastern Minnesota Baseball League. The roster is made up of former highschool and college players from mostly Princeton and the surrounding area. No trains or horse and buggies are needed for travel anymore but, the Panthers enjoy representing Princeton in their area league and statewide. Princeton Baseball Town Teams have been to the State Amateur Baseball Tournament 17 different years (1935, 1975, 1979, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1998, 1999, 2000 "C" 2nd, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009 & 2018). “Town Ball” is played like baseball was meant to be with wood bats, green grass and playing for bragging rights for your town.
