Sad Day for one Bandit
Coach Dallas Jelmberg received news today, Feb. 18th, that the last coach he played for in his real baseball playing days, not the games I play now, Marty Flitter former coach of the Forest Lake Lakers has passed away at the young age of 54. Marty was always a fun guy to be around and in his day, quite a good player. It's sad to know you're at the point in your baseball career that people you played with and for are starting to pass away. Which is something we never thought of when we were out on the field playing or drinking beer, hitting golf balls over the fence at Schumacher field after the game at 2 in the morning. Just as I'm sure most of our players don't think about it today. I hope some you are still around the game 20 or 30 or 40 years from now. Because, as in most things in life, the games are fun but it's the people who make it special. Thanks Marty, it was special.
